My Last Will and Testament

Has the thought of writing a will ever crossed your mind? or have you heard of another person leaving a will and asked yourself what is the need for leaving one? here are some of the reasons why you should consider writing one: –

1. It gives you control over your properties even after your death; through a will, you get to decide on what happens to your properties, who gets to manage and even inherit the same

2. It reduces the chances of family disputes over your properties; since it is already decided who gets what and to what extent, it is less likely that there will arise disputes over the distribution unlike where one dies intestate

3. Through a will you can give instructions on your last rites

4. By writing a will, you can bequeath property to friends and other people outside your consanguine relations

5. You can appoint executors of your choice; through a will, you can choose the people to manage, administer and subsequently distribute your estate amongst your beneficiaries.

6. Disclosure of all your properties; sometimes people die without disclosing some of their assets for one reason or the other which often may lead to the loss of the assets, through a will you are able to identify and list all your assets to avoid such scenarios.
